Adventures in Dog Sitting

I slept over at my sister-in-laws house with the kids on Friday night, meanwhile the dogs were left at home ("dogs" meaning mine, Libby and Sara's dog Montana). When I got home Saturday morning, I walked in the house and immediately smelled the nastiest smell. Amber kept asking "what's wrong Mommy?" as I'm close to dry heaving walking from room to room sniffing to find the source. Amber said "something is stinky in here." I don't know if she could really smell it, or if she was just imitating me. I can't find the source though, but I KNOW it's the smell of dog poop. I go outside to see if there's a big pile by the door that is somehow making its way in, when I discover Montana's food bin, slightly chewed through and totally empty. She had managed to break open the food bin and eat her entire weekend's stipend. Needless to say all the food caused some major gas, which was let loose for several hours I'm sure (I mean the whole house reeked!). I opened every window and aired it out all day. By evening the smell had gone away! Thank heavens! It was pretty nasty, but also quite funny.

Typical Sunday Morning

Sunday/Saturday is just the best, isn't it? I love just chillin' and the kids do too. We love to snuggle in bed, and by popular demand watch "Barney." I think we've watched way too many episodes. Today at church Amber starting singing "Sun, Sun Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me..." a Barney classic for all you fans out there.

We had dinner with some friends last week and our friend said "look at Parker's hair! It's crazy!" She is a beautician, so I asked her what she'd do with hair as crazy as his. She said "I'd buzz it!" So we buzzed it again. Poor kid will always have a shaved head, or he'll always look like he stuck his finger in a light socket. Obviously this is after we buzzed it.

How embarrassing, it's been well over two months since I've posted. I'm sure no one is even looks at mine anymore! I don't know how anyone has the time to keep up on these, but I'm going to do my best. Here is our latest photo. We finally got professional photos taken...it's only been three years since the last! I'm sure you'll see this picture again around Christmas in our Christmas cards at the rate we're going. Can you believe it's mid-August already? Where has the time gone?!
Thanks for all the fun comments from long lost friends! I love hearing from you and seeing your blogs!

Yummy Cake

Amber would eat cake for breakfast lunch and dinner if she could. She loves cake, ice cream, candy, SUGAR...just like her mom! I think she is on her third piece by now. She can never have enough.

Amber is 2!

Time flies when you're having fun! Amber is officially two. She turned two May 19th. Crazy how time goes by so quickly. We had such a fun day together. We went on a fun little "hike" to Tanner Park to start, then went to the Zoo. Amber LOVED the zoo. She was fascinated by the Elephants & Gorillas/Monkeys. It was such a fun day. Kids make life so much more fun, don't you think? Everything is so exciting. Who thought an elephant standing up and kicking a ball could be so cool. We ended the evening with the traditional cake and ice cream. Amber was such a good girl all day. I just can't believe she is 2!

Our Trip to California

We took a fun family vacation to California last week. We had such a good time! The kids had a great time too. The plane ride was a little rough...Parker is not a fan of airplanes. We survived though, and had a great time at the beach, Disneyland, Sea World and hanging out with Uncle Aaron & Fetriah (his girlfriend). The weather was great, but could have been a little warmer to be perfect. I prefer the 80's, and it was mostly in the 70's. Amber loved Sea World & Disneyland. She was so excited to see the Dolphins, and loved all the characters at Disneyland, but mostly Mickey Mouse and all the princess'.
